If you find that you get hungry soon after your morning bowl of porridge, I’ll let you into a secret: try adding an egg! 🥚 ⁠

I know stirring an egg into your porridge sounds a bit strange but whisking in an egg while cooking your porridge will make it fluffy, creamy, rich and satisfying.

This Vanilla Protein Porridge is such a delicious start to the day, and the not-so-secret ingredient of an egg amps up the protein content and fluffs up the consistency too!

Vanilla Egg Protein Porridge Recipe

Serves 1


  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg


  • Small handful of walnuts
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp nut butter of choice
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon


  1. Add your oats to a pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, stirring consistently, then reduce the heat to low.⁠
  2. Add the cinnamon, flax/chia and protein powder.⁠
  3. Cook until liquid is almost fully absorbed.⁠
  4. Add egg and stir in vigorously until mixture begins to look fluffy (1 to 2 minutes). Cook on low heat for 5 minutes, stirring regularly, then add toppings and serve. ⁠
