Glowing Skin Smoothie

Eli Brecher Nutrition

While I love clean beauty and natural skincare products, I truly believe that when it comes to your skin, no cleanser, toner or moisturiser can substitute a good diet. The key to glowing skin is not found in your makeup bag, but in your kitchen – and I’m going to share my favourite Glowing Skin Smoothie with you, along with the health benefits of each ingredient!

This green smoothie tastes amazing and it’s super simple to make! All you need is 6 ingredients and less than 5 minutes.

So let’s go through why I’ve hand-picked each ingredient to make your skin glow…

Banana – rich in potassium which helps hydrate skin. Bananas also contain vitamin C which plays a vital role in maintaining the elasticity of the skin keeping it youthful.

Avocado – a healthy monounsaturated fat, which helps the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins so vitamins A, D, E and K. Avocado also gives the smoothie a wonderfully creamy consistency.

Strawberries – high in vitamin C, which reduces inflammation that can damage skin tissue. Vitamin C key to the production of collagen, which gives our skin its firmness.

Spinach –  Loaded with vitamin B, C, E, potassium, iron and calcium just to name a few!

Almond Butter – another source of healthy fat as well as antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect against damage caused by oxygen free radicals, which contribute to premature ageing. Almond butter also gives an extra boost of fibre as well as protein. My favourite almond butter brands are either Meridian or Pip & Nut.

Nut Milk: nut milks are mainly water – and everyone knows hydration is key for glowing skin! I tend to switch between almond milk, hazelnut milk or cashew milk.

Note: I highly recommend investing in a good blender if you’re going to be making lots of smoothies! I use this Nutribullet which is a high enough standard and very affordable.

So if your skin feels like it could do with a bit of extra love, give this glowing skin smoothie a try, and don’t forget that beauty really does come from the inside out!
